Cold War Airsoft & Reenactment

Operation Bushmaster is an airsoft, paintball and re-enactment site dedicated to the often overlooked cold war conflicts of the 1970’s, 80's and 90’s, looking at the weapons, gear and equipment of the US military during this period. Panama, Grenada, Desert Storm and the Balkans conflict are often overlooked but represent an interesting period of military history. This is about armed forces written from the perspective of re-enactment, paintball and airsoft, kit and weapons rather than maps and eye witness accounts, the history channel has your back for that stuff! Airsoft and re-enactment content is displayed here with the utmost respect to those that lived the life day to day.

Anyone in their 20’s and 30’s grew up during the cold war, watching movies containing iconic weapons and equipment of the era, the Colt Commando, Alice Webbing, the PASGT system etc. This is where my interest in the kit and weapons of the cold war era originated. Like most of my generation I watched Desert storm unfold night by night on the news and found it fascinating and terrifying in equal measure. When I discovered airsoft and paintball in my teens it was the equipment and weapons from all of these media sources that I was drawn towards. My main area of interest is cold war airsoft
